A winding path down into the quarry(e and nw)

You are about two thirds of the way down into the pit. Your view is entirely limited to the trail as it winds along the walls of the pit, and the water-covered floor of the quarry below. The rock wall beside you is not smooth; it is, in fact, so rough that it could hide small scavenger animals easily. The path curves to the northwest as it winds its way down, and to the east heading back up.
The only obvious exits are east and northwest.
